Privacy Policy

Funny Pet Stories (The Daily Zoomies) is an entertainment publication. The stories are invented; this page is not. Below is a plain account of what happens when you read this site. The short version: we measure how the paper is read, we do not sell anything about you, and right now we do not have a single one of your email addresses.

What we don’t collect yet

The newsletter sign-up and the tip form are not switched on. They render in an “opens soon” state, they do not send anything anywhere, and they store nothing. We hold no subscriber list and no submitted stories. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the forms accept a single entry.

Analytics and session recording

We load our measurement tools through Google Tag Manager, a container that decides which tools run on a page. Tag Manager does not itself collect analytics about you — it loads the two tools below, and those are the only two.

Google Analytics 4 measures aggregate traffic: which pages are viewed, how far down a page people scroll, and which outbound links are clicked. It sets cookies in your browser so repeat visits can be told apart from new ones. Google explains how it handles this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Microsoft Clarity records session replays and heatmaps. In plain terms: Clarity can play back how a visitor moved, scrolled, and clicked their way through a page, and aggregates those movements into heat maps. We use it to find layout and readability problems. Microsoft’s privacy statement covers what it does with that data.

How to opt out

You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit, not just this one, by installing Google’s official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking or clearing cookies in your browser settings also works, and the site reads perfectly well without them.

We don’t sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We run no advertising tags, no retargeting pixels, and no data-broker integrations. The analytics above exist so we can see which dispatches land, and nothing beyond that.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which automatically logs standard technical request data such as IP address and browser type in order to serve pages and keep the site secure. This is ordinary infrastructure logging, not something we query to learn about individuals.

Contact

The newsroom’s tip form is the contact route, and it opens along with the submissions desk. Until then there is no channel to reach us — and also nothing personal of yours for us to hand over or delete, because the only data in play is the analytics described above, which you can shut off yourself using the opt-out above.
